BA ‘APP’

BA Components have further enhanced the marketing support package offered to the Bella and Zurfiz dealer network with the development of an application, or ‘APP’ as it’s commonly referred to downloadable from the Apple App Store to your iPad today.

The App which displays images of eight product groups from the BA Component ranges, is fully interactive on iPad and will shortly be available to download to both iPhone and Android platforms also, making it available to most smartphone and tablet users today.

Dealers who have already tested the APP while on trial found it helpful and useful to display in their showrooms and explain some finer product details.

Download your free copy today, simply go to the App Store and type in BA Components in the search window, the rest is simple.

BA…….Leading the way.

BA Components win Major Kitchen Award

The Irish Kitchen Trade Awards 2011 reached their culmination at a Gala Dinner in the Belfast Hilton Hotel on Friday night 25th November.

It was a great opportunity for retailers, distributors and manufacturers to meet and interact with each other, at a time when the market is still under a lot of pressure.

The serious business of the night was the recognition of individuals and organisations whose contribution to the industry has made a difference.

It was a great moment for all at BA Components when the award for Supplier of the Year was announced and BA were crowned as winners.

The award, won against strong competition was judged not only on the strength and stability of BA’s processes, protocols and procedures but also quality levels, design innovation and service levels to our customer base.

Judges were impressed with the robust systems in place, the high levels of customer service, quality of product and design and commended BA as a model within the industry for others to aspire towards.

The picture shows Director Kieran McCracken accepting the award on behalf of all at BA Components.

And the winner is……….

BA Components were pleased be a major sponsor of the Irish Kitchen Design Awards and to present the award to the winner at the Gala dinner in the Belfast Hilton hotel last Friday night 25th November.

BA sponsored the award in the design category where judges were looking for the best Kitchen Design costing no more than £25,000.

The winner on the night was Johanna Montgomery of Woodland Kitchens, and BA Components Sales & Marketing Director, David Caulfield is pictured here presenting the award to Johanna.

Our special congratulations to Johanna, who on the night also received the award for Best Young Designer of 2011.

New Zurfiz Colour

Following the success of the Zurfiz by BA door launch last year, BA Components have decided to add a new colour to the range, increasing the colours available to 21. Metallic Blue Acrylic will further compliment the range and increase choice well above anything currently offered in the UK & Irish marketplace from any door supplier.

BA who have just returned from Sicam in Italy where they exhibited very successfully generating great interest from many marketplaces throughout the world, are constantly seeking to improve their ranges by listening and reacting to customer demands, and market trends and believe this colour completes a stunning range with real panache.

New colour will be available to order early December.

Dominant display by BA Components sponsored KMR Kawasaki at Bishopscourt

Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki team put in a dominant display at Bishopscourt short circuit in Downpatrick N.Ireland on Saturday when they blitzed the opposition in the two Supertwin races at the annual Sunflower Trophy meeting. With Jeremy McWilliams and Jamie Hamilton joining Ryan on the ER6 650cc machines, the trio were never headed and completed a stunning 1-2-3 in both races as Hamilton and McWilliams took the race wins.

With mixed weather conditions at the 2.136 mile International circuit, McWilliams was having his first ever outing on the bike and having missed practice on Friday, 5 laps in morning warm-up enabled him to start the first 9-lap race from the back of the grid although he soon tore his way through the field. However, whilst he climbed his way up to third, it was Hamilton who set the pace at the head of the field and it was he who took the chequered flag by 4.4s from Farquhar who once again proved he’s not just a road racer and put in an accomplished short circuit performance.

The second 9-lap race later in the day saw the three riders run in flying team formation in the leading three positions with former GP winner McWilliams, getting more and more used to the bike with each and every lap, and Hamilton exchanging the lead on numerous occasions. Farquhar sat behind in third, just a couple of seconds adrift, as the leading duo broke and re-broke the lap record and it was McWilliams who ultimately got the verdict, taking the win over Hamilton by just 0.7s. Farquhar took a comfortable third as McWilliams had the honour of setting a new lap record at 1m30.138s.

Hamilton also rode the team’s ZX-10R Superstock bike to 4th in the opening Superbike race and 8th in the feature Sunflower Trophy event.

Speaking afterwards, a delighted Farquhar said: “It’s been a superb day for the team and to take a 1-2-3 in each of the Supertwins races was simply superb and a terrific way for us to end the season. It’s a huge achievement to get all 3 bikes in the top 3, not once but twice so it really couldn’t have gone any better. I’d spoken to Jeremy back in January when we were riding in the Classic Festival in Australia and he said he’d like to have a go on one of the Supertwins so when the opportunity arose to ride at the Sunflower he took it. He had to miss the practice on Friday due to other commitments but the 5 laps in the morning meant he could start the races and he showed his class with two great rides, including the win and the lap record. He can still ride a bike that’s for sure and there’s a good possibility that he’ll be out on the bike again sometime in the future.”

“Jamie again showed how good he is and I’m really looking forward to working with him on a more regular basis in 2012. The Supertwin bike really suits him but he impressed on the big bike too. It was his first time on the bike and we were testing a few bits and pieces but he showed what he can do with a good 4th in the first race and 8th in the Sunflower was no mean feat given he’d started from the back row of the grid. Overall, I’m simply delighted with how the day went and I’d just like to thank everyone in the team for making it all happen and also Jeremy and Jamie for being a pleasure to work with.”

BA goes European at Sicam

The Sicam Furniture Fair will open its doors in Pordenone, Northern Italy on Wednesday 19th October.

The show will run for four days and attract visitors from all over Europe and beyond. With over 540 exhibitors showing their products in 9 halls totalling more than 30,000 square metres of exhibition space, it promises to be a show to remember.

The exhibition team from BA Components are looking forward to showing their products, processes and procedures to many interested parties, both existing customers and those with an interest in doing business with BA for the first time.

BA will be exhibiting their products under 8 themes or groups, all relevant to the current portfolio of product and services offered from both our Doncaster and Cookstown sites.

Visitors will be able to see details of; 3D Pressed doors & components, 3D Curved components, Acrylic faced doors, Sliding doors & systems, 5 piece doors including in-frame, wrapped profiles, componentry and BA’s new development, Flat panel lamination.

With many appointments to meet visitors already arranged, and an increasing interest in the BA product portfolio this years Sicam promises to be a real opportunity to cement current relationships and open a new door to Europe.

Improvements to BA Components Customer Service Levels

In recognition of a market where delivery turn around times are becoming more critical and reflecting our customers’ needs, BA Components have invested over £500,000 in a fully integrated ERP system for both the Cookstown and Doncaster factories to dramatically cut lead times and improve customer service.

From January 2012 the turn around time for Bella and Zurfiz orders at Cookstown will be within 7 working days from order to despatch with a next day delivery to our customer’s premises. From this time most goods will be sent order by order rather than being grouped, thus avoiding any undue delays within the despatch process.

In the meantime; from now through to this changeover in January, despatch of Bella and Zurfiz products from Cookstown will be cut from its present 11 to 14 days to much faster 6 to 10 days.

If an urgent order is required sooner than this, please contact our Customer Service Team and they will try to accommodate you where possible.

We believe this substantial investment in customer service and the resulting fast product turn around will allow all Bella and Zurfiz dealers an opportunity to be even more competitive in a difficult marketplace.

This is further evidence of the support we give to our dealer network and yet another reason to supply the By-BA Brands.

Sicam International Trade Show

Preparations are well under way for BA Components appearance at the Sicam International Trade Show in Pordenone Italy in October.

The Sicam fair, which is now in it’s third year attracts visitors from all over the world and this year will have 500 companies exhibiting in a total space of 30,000 square metres over 9 exhibition halls.

The event runs from 19th through to 22nd October and the BA staff on the stand are looking forward to welcoming both new and old customers to the stand.

Further details and instructions on obtaining free show passes will be posted on this page in the near future.

Magnificent seven for Farquhar at the Mount

After many years involvement in rallying, where BA Components successfully partnered with Irish rally champion Glen Allen, enjoying many high points including Irish International championships, the focus for 2011 changed. This year the BA name and logo was featured not in rallying but in a different branch of motorsport with well known local racing motorcyclist and internationally recognised competitor Ryan Farquhar displaying it prominently on his machines and his racing leathers.

Ryan Farquhar has consistently been Ireland’s best motorcycle road racer, winning countless races in Ireland, England and the Isle of Man securing Irish championship titles and the prestigious Duke Road Race rankings.

Ryan Farquhar ended his 2011 road racing season in magnificent style at the weekend when he won all seven of his races at the International Gold Cup at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough, the highlight of which was getting his name on the feature trophy for the very first time. It was also the first time an Irishman had won the Gold Cup in its 60-year history and Ryan also added the David Jefferies, Darran Lindsay and Phil Mellor trophies to his haul of silverware.

Saturday’s race action around the 2.43-mile public road course saw fine, sunny conditions and, after winning his two heats, Ryan’s first race was the opening leg of the Darran Lindsay Superbike Trophy event, reduced to four laps after an incident. It was John McGuinness who led in the early stages but Ryan was able to squeeze through at Mountside Hairpin on the third lap and hold on by just under a second for his first victory. Next up was the first leg of the Phil Mellor Supertwins Trophy and it was again tight as Ryan this time had to overcome the challenge of Ivan Lintin Overtaking him at the Memorial, Ryan began to pull away and, aided by a new lap record, he eventually took the chequered flag by 3.1s. His final race of the day was the first leg for the David Jefferies Trophy and although he had a three-second lead by the end of lap 3, regular rivals Michael and William Dunlop gradually began to reel him and the trio were soon nose to tail. However, Ryan was able to keep them at the bay and grab the win from William by 0.838s.

Sunday saw the riders greeted by vastly different conditions, firstly fog and secondly rain, and so it was a wet race for the second leg of the Darran Lindsay Trophy. Again it was McGuinness who grabbed the holeshot and the TT legend led for three quarters of the race before Ryan was finally able to take over at the front. He duly did so on lap 6 to take the win and the trophy and it was a similar outcome of the second Supertwins race although this time he led the race from start to finish.

In the feature Gold Cup race, Ryan’s chances of becoming the first ever Irish victor had never been better but it was no foregone conclusion and it was again a two-horse race between him and McGuinness. There was little to choose between the two but, just after half race distance, Ryan broke the tow and was able to pull away to finally add his name to the highly prestigious trophy. He completed his day with another start to finish victory in the second leg of the 600cc event to regain the David Jefferies Trophy.

Indeed, it was a successful day all round for the KMR Kawasaki team with Jamie Hamilton taking third and fourth in the two Supertwins races, which included beating Ian Lougher, the most successful man ever at Scarborough, excellent results for the 20-year old on his circuit debut.

Speaking afterwards, a delighted Ryan said: “To have a 100% winning record this weekend is absolutely brilliant and to finally win the Gold Cup is the icing on the cake. I’ve been 2nd and 3rd in the past and it’s been the one trophy to elude me here at Oliver’s Mount but to win it at last is great and to become the first Irishman to get my name on the trophy makes it even more special. None of the races this weekend were easy though and John pushed me hard in all of the Superbike races. It’s probably the best I’ve ever seen him ride round here and I really enjoyed our battles, he’s such a good rider to race with.”

“Sunday was especially hard with the weather conditions and it was really slippery out there, especially under the trees, but we had the right tyres in each race and it all came together perfectly. Like I say to win 7 out of 7 is superb and it really doesn’t get much better than that. I was again really pleased with the efforts of Jamie this weekend too and it’s a pleasure to have him in the team. It wasn’t the easiest weekend for a circuit newcomer but he did a great job and to get on the podium, and ahead of Ian Lougher, is no mean achievement and something to be proud of.”

“It’s the end of the season for me and, overall, it’s been a good year. There’ve been a few ups and downs along the way but we’ve taken some wins and been competitive so I can’t complain so a big thank you to all my sponsors and to all the fans who’ve supported me during the year.”

New Colours & Styles for ‘Bella by BA’

BA Components have over the last 20 years built a strong reputation for quality product, great design and unrivalled marketing support.

This is a reputation of which BA are justifiably proud, and this along with an ability to listen carefully to what their dealers say, and where possible building those requests into product development, has led to the launch of three new door styles for the Bella range; Broadway, Tullymore and Knebworth.

Broadway a new take on the iconic T-Bar style is being offered in both kitchen and bedroom sizes and promises to be an outstanding success within the overall ‘Bella by BA’ range.

Tullymore, a very realistic looking ‘mock in-frame’ door is also available in both kitchen and bedroom sizes and can be ordered in all non gloss Bella colours. Tullymore is also available as a sloping door option.
Depending on the colour chosen this style can look exceptional in either traditional or contemporary settings, and has been launched as a direct result of many customer requests.

Knebworth, a new handle-less ‘J’ grooved door brings that sleek, sharp contemporary look effortlessly and cost effectively to the marketplace. Also available in kitchen and bedroom sizes, this simple yet modern style should prove to be a winner.

To compliment the three new styles and to refresh the complete ‘Bella by BA’ range, this month also sees BA launching nine new colours available for all 24 styles in the range.

In line with current trends BA are launching four stunning matt colours, Matt Dakkar, Matt Mussel, Matt Olive and Matt Stone Grey, three exquisite wood grains, Tiepolo Light Walnut, Odessa Oak and Steinberg Beech and following requests from the BA dealer network, two of the popular Avola’s, Avola Cream and Avola Flint Grey.

The complete range of Bella manufactured accessories are available in all of the new colours.

Full updated Brochures and Price Information Guides are currently in production and will be available from the end of September.

BA are confident that the introduction of these new colours and styles further enhance the ‘Bella by BA’ door range, making it the best currently available, and are already preparing for their next new product launch, the ‘Pronto by BA’ range next month.

Always conscious of the need for product development and network growth BA are continually looking to add more quality retailers to their network.

Bella changes make it even better

BA Components are making new and exciting changes to the Bella range for 2011. We are improving the range by introducing new designs and colours.

To make room for this range expansion we have decided to discontinue some slow moving colours from the current range, this planned phase out is well underway and while it is a changing situation almost by the day but certainly week by week, regular updates are being posted on BA Live and are available from your BA sales contact.

When colours have run down, only orders for remedial and one-off’s to finish on-going jobs will be accepted.

Colours affected in addition to High Gloss Red, stocks of which have now been exhausted are, Beech, Buttermilk, High Gloss Cherry, High Gloss Maple, Honey Birch, Light Birch, Mandalay Teak and Maple.

Also being discontinued are, Traditional Cornice and Pelmet in ALL colours within the Bella Range, and these products will become unavailable when stocks are exhausted.

As trends change and design improves it’s vitally important to offer our customers colours and designs that are current, topical and on trend. To achieve this and maintain the Bella range at the forefront of the Kitchen and Bedroom door market, we are replacing the discontinued colours with nine new and exciting additions to maintain a choice of thirty-five colours.

A new Beech, Steinberg Beech will be introduced alongside four Matt colours, Dakkar, Mussell, Olive and Stone Grey, and the new collection finished with the addition of Light Teipolo Walnut, Odessa Oak, Avola Cream White and Avola Grey.

Sample packs of all new colours and designs will be available to order June / July, with new updated brochures and marketing materials available shortly afterwards.

We are confident, the colours, designs and marketing support we supply to our dealers is currently the best in our market sector, and we are in no doubt these new additions and the forthcoming marketing materials will further improve and enhance the Bella range, adding excitement and real ‘must have’ appeal to the overall offer.

We believe there’s never been a better time to be a Bella by BA dealer.

New Challenge

A young man with new challenges is Paul Randall. Paul who has been successfully selling our Bella and Zurfiz ranges in East Anglia for the last eighteen months, is taking up a new role within the business on June 6th.

As business through Doncaster has continued to grow it has become apparent that we needed to strengthen the sales development effort particularly in the South of the country.

After an exhaustive recruitment and interview process over many weeks, Paul emerged as the successful candidate and will commence his new role in Business Development in June.

Total Door Elegance Slides in from BA Components

The use of sliding doors more often in the bedroom but now increasingly being used to seal or conceal kitchen areas in modern apartments and town houses is becoming more prevalent in the KBB marketplace today.

While there are many offerings of both internally mounted and externally hung sliding systems, where one door sits outside the other on parallel tracks, it is unusual to find a system where the doors when closed form a completely flush plane and sit perfectly side by side and in line.

BA Components have been working with other companies for a number of years to find and perfect the technology to achieve this and after three years of research and development along with Hardoor in Israel that system is just about to be launched in the UK and Ireland.

While there still is the normal ‘budget’ sliding systems in the Glidor by BA range, including both internally mounted and externally hung doors, it is the ‘in-line’ system that will set this collection apart and add real value in the normal BA manner.

All the systems can carry individual doors weighing up to 250kg and up to two metres wide another first for the UK and Irish markets, with all the strength of the system being engineered in the edge profiles and not the rails as is the case with most other systems.

The new ‘In Line’ Glidor system really is this market’s future of interior design. Glidor by BA opens a world of new possibilities in advanced technology and breath-taking design.

The Glidor systems are fully patented and being offered exclusively in UK and Ireland by BA Components.

There are no limits to the design possibilities as the clean crisp lines lend themselves to many looks, limited only by our imaginations. No handles, no visible door separation or obvious step between the doors, no gaps. Doors can be made from MDF, MFC, Glass, mirror or a combination, the possibilities are endless and then simply by moving a lever, or gently pressing a door, or touching a remote, depending on the system installed, the doors come apart and can by moved side to side giving access to the wardrobes before being pushed back into the closed position where they will automatically move back into line. It truly is bringing magic to your bedroom…or kitchen.

Full details of the Glidor launch and distribution arrangements in Ireland and UK will be posted on the BA Components website later this month.

Sales Team Changes

2010 has seen some changes in personnel and responsibilities within the sales team reporting to Sales & Marketing Director, David Caulfield.

Jonathan Head has been promoted to become National Sales Manager and now has full day to day responsibility for the field sales team.

Anthony McCabe who has been looking after the North East for the last 3 years has now left BA Components to pursue a career in the Paint Industry and Rebecca Travis who looked after the Midlands for the same period is now working in the Disabled Access Market.

We have been joined by Gavin Green in the West Midlands, Richard Ward in the North and Jayne Russell in North London. Gavin, Richard & Jayne bring a wealth of new experience, energy and enthusiasm to the BA team which we are confident will add to the professionalism, service and support given to our Dealer network.

We wish Anthony and Rebecca well in their new careers and Gavin, Richard and Jayne much success with BA Components. Over the next few weeks and months they will become regular visitors to all dealers in their areas. We are sure they will build long and successful relationships within the BA dealer network.

BA Components set to launch new sliding door concept

BA Components have been searching the world for a sliding door system offering a very modern solution, simple engineering and cutting edge design to sliding doors.

The search led them to Israel where they made contact with a Company embracing and living all of these principles.

Hardoor, based in Tel Aviv, have developed a unique range of sliding solutions where the strength and durability of the systems are firmly based in the profiles used. Engineered to a very high quality the three systems in the range; internally fixed Glidor ‘N’, externally fixed Glidor ‘X’ and a flush fitting in-line system called Sesami are to be offered to UK and Irish customers by sole distributors BA Components from the beginning of 2011.

The systems will be marketed in the UK and Ireland as Glidor by BA and are set to revolutionise how we fit and use sliding doors for the future.

The ranges will be launched and exhibited at the Sicam Fair in Pordenone from 20th to 23rd October and all will be welcomed at stand C40 in Hall 7 by both Hardoor and BA staff.

BA Components, quality through experience

Wherever BA doors are manufactured, either in Doncaster or Cookstown a BA door is manufactured to the highest quality using the latest available plant, procedures and processes.

Since the acquisition of BLP in December last year, investment in machinery, systems and people have once again raised the profile of the Doncaster factory and increased production fivefold.

The highly skilled workforce that’s been there for many years have with renewed motivation and investment, responded to the challenge and are again producing doors and accessories of a high quality in large numbers.

BA Components at Doncaster work with leading retailers and manufacturers in the UK across the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom markets. The manufacturing facilities there allow BA to produce MDF wrapped decorative furniture profiles, membrane pressed door and drawer fronts and profile framed 5 piece doors.

In Cookstown, home of the Bella by BA ranges production has been increased to cope with rising demand.

The addition of new machinery to produce curved doors and accessories alongside the launch of the new Zurfiz by BA collection has resulted in production and output increases in line with current demand.

Constant research and development, coupled with continual customer feedback and market research has seen not only continued development of the Bella collections but now to continue the service to BA’s dealer network, the introduction and launch of Zurfiz by BA.

BA Components have brought the clean lines of a top end European kitchen or bedroom within reach of a wider audience with the introduction of the Zurfiz product.

This stunning and comprehensive made to measure collection of ultra modern doors is available in 20 colour options and to add to the choice and flexibility of the range the doors are also offered in 3 edge finishes, matching to produce a solid acrylic look, brushed steel for an ultra-modern continental feel and a stunning glass effect 3D edge producing a deceptively real glazed appearance.

All the doors are manufactured using 18mm MDF, and the surface finishes across the range are a mix of acrylic and PVC materials.

To compliment the range along with a full accessory range including bi-fold doors, curved doors, panels and handles, BA have created a full marketing and advertising support package. New brochures with stunning settings and photography, full POS materials and a wide advertising campaign will help BA dealers new and old promote what promises to be a stunning addition to the marketplace.

Zurfiz doors are available in kitchen, bedroom and non standard sizes.

Zurfiz by BA – New dimensions in bedroom & kitchen design

BA has never been a company to acknowledge convention without questioning whether there is a better way and the introduction of their new Zurfiz by BA collection proves the point.

Explains sales and marketing director, David Caulfield. “Zurfiz is all about surface – the name is a play on words. We started looking at high gloss. The ultimate is glass but we wanted to find another way to create a really good gloss. We decided to use 18mm MDF as the core and cold laminate it, either with a Senoplast acrylic or a PVC. By cold laminating we got rid of the heat problems where the composition of the materials can change. The result is a much smoother product which actually looks like glass.

” Zurfiz doors are offered with a choice of three edges, all specifically ordered and matched by Döllken. Continues David, “We’re offering a self-coloured edge which creates a look like a solid acrylic door, a 3d glass effect which is deceptively real and a brushed steel effect edge. We started off with six ultragloss solid colours, then we extended our offer to include four ultragloss woodgrains, six matt finishes and four fantasy finishes – two textured and two metallic.

Zurfiz is going out with a full marketing suite of two new brochures, inspired by the style of David Hockney. Expect a touch of the surreal: solid colours shown on kitchens and bedrooms in New York’s Central Park, woodgrains in Japan and matt finishes in Italy. As for the fantasies – well, pure fantasy.

Like BA’s well established Bella doors, Zurfiz will be made to measure, any colour, any finish with 10 -14 day turnaround. “We’re extremely pleased with the result and the initial feedback from customers who’ve seen the product” says David. Supported by a new website and advertising support, Zurfiz by BA offers a real alternative to the BA dealer network whether new or existing.

The BA philosophy has always been to look for new opportunities and uses for our products and the provision of product to the Cruise Ship industry seemed a logical progression”.

As always BA Components look to the future and truly bring new designs to new horizons.

BA Components purchase BLP from Administration

Market leading furniture door and components manufacturer BA Components based in Cookstown in N.Ireland and owned by twin brothers, Brian and Kieran McCracken have today announced the successful purchase of BLP from Administration.

BA Components established in 1990 has grown steadily to become a major manufacturer in the UK and Irish furniture components industry and the acquisition of BLP is a logical step in a planned progress which has resulted in sustained growth over the last number of years.

The BLP business has over 100 year’s history and is well known and respected in the furniture industry. The subject of a Management buy out in February they had unfortunately become a victim of the current credit crisis and were placed in Administration on 7th December 2009 .

Brian McCracken, BA Component’s Managing Director said, “The purchase of this well established and respected business makes total sense in the further development of both businesses. The position of the joint operation will substantially strengthen BA’s position in the UK market, allowing us to further develop our offering to volume users, while introducing the BLP ranges to our large dealer base of small, medium and large retail outlets allowing both operations opportunities for expansion and growth”

Many of the administration functions for the combined operation will be handled from the Cookstown head office but a strong planning and production team will be maintained and further developed at the Doncaster site.

Heading up the Doncaster team will be Ian Cohen who is returning to BLP as Operations Director bringing with him a wealth of experience, ability and knowledge to an operation he led for many years prior to February’s MBO.

Looking forward to the challenge of successfully growing the business in Doncaster again Ian said, “My knowledge of the procedures and protocols developed in Doncaster over years alongside good relations with a skilled and motivated workforce and a customer base I know well, will with application and co-operation from all concerned lead to seamless continuity and development well into the future.”

Production of the full BLP portfolio of MDF wrapped decorative furniture mouldings, veneer wrapped architectural mouldings, PREDOR membrane pressed cabinet doors and drawer fronts and PRODOR profile framed 5 piece constructional doors will be maintained and developed, with continuity of supply guaranteed to current customers.

Sales & Marketing Director David Caulfield added, “This exciting development provides a great opportunity to enhance our value proposition to both BLP and BA customers and the ethos of quality and design evident throughout the operation means BLP is a strong fit with our strategy to provide more added value and meaningful opportunities for the joint customer base. With a strong sales support presence on the ground and the addition of the product mix and workforce skills in Doncaster we can all look forward to continued and growing success.”

The joint business will now trade as BA Components with the BLP name preserved but presented in BA corporate style where it will sit comfortably alongside other BA brands; Bella by BA and Zurfiz by BA.

The financial security and robust business practises of BA Components will ensure continued development and expansion of the production facility at Doncaster, secure jobs for a skilled, local workforce and ensure reliable, continuous quality and supply to current and new BLP and BA customers.

The arrival of an exciting new range of kitchen and bedroom doors and accessories in January 2010 to be produced using exciting new technology and marketed under the new brand Zurfiz by ba will add further interest to the BA range. Available in 20 stunning finishes and with numerous finishing touches it promises to be THE exciting development in kitchens and bedrooms for 2010.

With a third brand utilising leading edge design features planned for Spring / Summer 2010 the news from BA Components to their dealer network and the public in general is one of exciting beginnings, development and improvement to existing ranges and a fantastic year to look forward to.

To tie all the brands together and build real recognition of the ranges into the future the company have decided to focus on the common element of each brand; by ba.

“This will be the common thread that binds all the brands together in the BA family” said Sales & Marketing Manager David Caulfield, “and will be the true mark of the quality of each brand. If it’s by ba then it is all about quality, choice, detail, inspiration and design”

The continuing consumer and trade advertising the company are in engaged in will now start to carry the by-ba mark and wherever you see it, it will firmly establish each separate brand as an essential element in the whole mix that epitomises the beliefs and ethos of BA Components.

Now really is the time to become a dealer with by-ba.

New Face for Bella

BA Components have appointed a new Area Sales Manager in East Anglia. Paul Randall who will be working out of Peterborough and reporting to Midlands Regional Manager Dave Gray comes to Bella from Howdens Joinery where he has been operating as salesman from the Peterborough branch since July last year.

Sales & Marketing Manager David Caulfield is pleased to have Paul join the team, “Paul will bring a freshness of approach to this important area, and his enthusiasm and experience will ensure the Bella customers in the East Anglia area get a service second to none, I know he’ll prove to be a real asset to BA”

Paul’s appointment is part of the continued development of the BA sales team and brings the current field sales team numbers to 10.

Bedroom Doors the new Trendy

While most of us were growing up the doors in ours and our parents bedrooms were integral to the free-standing wardrobes, cabinets and ‘tall-boys’ fashionable at that time.

In many cases the framing of the furniture and the trimming top and bottom were where the design feature and interest lay, with the doors more or less plain and unadorned.

Today’s bedroom doors are becoming trend setting rather than trend following and the styles we produce seem now to be limited only by our imaginations.

Solid wood bedroom doors, Vinyl wrapped Bedroom doors; glass bedroom doors and any combination of these materials are now being offered in a plethora of shapes from curves, through sloping and arched to straight edged bedroom doors.

Slow close, soft close, parallel swing back or sliding even the method of opening and closing our bedroom doors are becoming design features.

The advent of design and home improvement shows on television, the multiplication of home design and home fashion magazines and the tendency to allow more and more people to see all aspects of our living spaces has made the bedroom and the bedroom doors we fit an essential element of our homes of today.

Whether the bedroom furniture we use is fitted or free-standing the offers available in the market today to have bespoke bedroom doors with cutting edge designs is the best there’s ever been. The limits on what we can display in our bedrooms are simply governed by the extent of our imaginations and our budgets.

For those on a smaller budget vinyl wrapped bedroom doors are now offering design features and variety that are quite stunning and certainly the Sahara and Flowline bedroom doors as offered by Bella have become an item of first choice for many bedroom designers.

Curved bedroom doors which up until recently have either been hard to find or far too expensive for normal budgets are becoming more readily available, and with full length bedroom curves now available in vinyl wrapping from Bella they are within reach of us all.

Whatever the dream, whatever the vision we have for our bedroom doors it can now be realised today, and there is no longer any excuse for blandness or mediocrity in our bedrooms designs.

Practical Kitchen Door, Kitchen Unit and Kitchen Furniture improvement Ideas on a Budget in current times.

In the current credit crunch when finances are stretched the way to improve your kitchen is to look carefully at your current kitchen furniture and see how best to create a new look at the least cost.

With fewer resources available, you should plan your renovation carefully. Reports show that a remodelled kitchen can increase the value of your home substantially. Experts concur that the cosmetic changes we make at home are the best mode of increasing its resale value. The kitchen is an ideal place to begin since there are varied options available and the improvement can range from simple to extensive.

Prioritize your Improvements

In updating your kitchen, you should learn how to prioritize the changes you will make. Since it is hard to do improvements all at once, you have to list the changes that are important to you. If what you want is more storage space, then allocate money for new kitchen units instead of buying a new fridge of oven. Knowing how to renovate your kitchen with fewer finances means careful consideration and recognising the areas in your kitchen that needs to be changed.

Start with Small Improvements

You should begin with little changes when you want to update your kitchen. These changes can make your kitchen more attractive and boost its usefulness without spending too much. For example, why don’t you consider re-facing your kitchen units by simply adding new kitchen doors? The Bella range has been designed to help you do this with minimum effort, minimum fuss and minimum mess. By changing kitchen doors you can create a whole new look and update the total appearance of your kitchen units and kitchen furniture for a small expenditure.

You may consider replacing your kitchen door hardware by adding new handles from the Bella range or you may change your kitchen lighting for the purpose of brightening and enhancing the surrounding areas of your home. There is a wide range of options available in the Bella range, from under cupboard lighting to fit below wall mounted kitchen units, to plinth mounted halogen spotlights fitted below base kitchen units and many more. The Kitchen and Bedroom collection brochures show many examples of these options and are well worth checking carefully.

Redecorate

If you merely want a cosmetic change of the appearance for your kitchen areas then instead of spending on kitchen units and kitchen furniture and fixtures, paint or wallpaper your kitchen walls instead. A fresh coat of paint or new wallpaper can alter the appearance of your kitchen for a relatively small cost and change the total look and feel instantly.

Add a Kitchen Island

Most people complain that there is insufficient worktop space in the kitchen and this can quickly be remedied by adding a kitchen island.

There are various styles of Kitchen Island but it is vital to ensure there is sufficient space between existing work areas and where you intend to place the island. You need to consider carefully the function of your island unit and where best to locate it. You can have it in the centre of the kitchen or you may place it as a divider between the kitchen and living room.

Islands can be constructed relatively inexpensively by buying a few ready made kitchen units and adding matching kitchen doors, and if you are using the Bella collection there are over 700 available options to choose from.

For added interest the kitchen doors and kitchen units could be contrasting to add interest and character to the overall look of your kitchen furniture.

When you update your kitchen always keep in mind the potential resale value of your home even if you have no plans of moving out. Take into account the style of your home, when you do kitchen updates and make sure the kitchen units and kitchen doors are in keeping with the overall look of your home.

Whatever the option you decide on, the range and choice offered by Bella should mean whatever your taste and whatever your budget, you should find what you are looking for.

BA Components help with Homework

BA Components has always been a family and community orientated company, amongst the staff you’ll find fathers and sons, brothers and sisters, cousins, uncles and good friends all working side by side. The company also like where possible to contribute to the local community where our workforce live.

Recently we heard of the plight of local Phoenix Integrated Primary school in the town of Cookstown where we’re based, where a shortage of USB Memory sticks meant that the 23 pupils in P5 & P6 had to share one USB stick.

This meant difficulties with homework as the boys and girls had to take turns to have the USB at home to help with their lessons.

BA were asked if something could be done to help and had pleasure in supplying each of the pupils with their very own memory stick to use every night, now’s there no excuse for homework not being handed in.

The picture shows the P5 & P6 boys and girls of Phoenix Integrated Primary school along with their teacher Miss Robinson proudly showing of their newly acquired USB sticks which were presented by David Caulfield BA’s Sales & Marketing Manager and Celine McCreesh Marketing Assistant.

Managing Director, Brian McCracken writes foreword for latest Bella News

Hi again everyone, and welcome to our summer 2009 newsletter.

We are all living and conducting business in challenging times and as many in our industry have had to give up the struggle and cease to trade it’s great to know there are so many of you out there who have battened down the hatches and battled through. While it’s a little too early yet to say the worst appears to be over there is no doubt some of those elusive green shoots we’ve all been looking for are beginning to sprout.

I firmly believe if we all, both manufacturer and dealer work together we will not only survive the crisis but emerge stronger and better equipped for the future.

Our strategy at BA has remained unchanged throughout and we have continued a program of investment and development designed to build our brand and support our dealer’s growth. We continue to invest heavily in advertising and marketing with a full program of trade advertising now backed up by a comprehensive consumer advertising campaign. Look out for the Bella advertising in KBB, 25 Beautiful Homes, 25 Beautiful Kitchens, The All Ireland Kitchen Guide, Ideal Homes, Home Building & Renovations, Living etc, Homes & Gardens and Country Homes & Interiors.

We have embarked on a major drive to increase our dealer network and to compliment our brochures, innovative new products, website, and advertising we have recruited a further two sales people to improve our field sales service in support of our dealers.

As you know, our aim is to make Bella and Bella stockists the best any consumer can find when they want to replace or refresh either their kitchen or bedrooms.

I wish you all a fantastic 2009/10 as together we succeed in trying times.

Advice to hard pressed Kitchen and Bedroom retailers in the current economic climate

David Caulfield – BA Components Sales & Marketing Manager looks at current Market trends and offers advice to hard pressed retailers in the current economic climate.

We are living in extraordinary times and the recent meltdown of the global economy has had an impact however large or small on us all.

It is important in any business in such times that we don’t passively succumb to doubt but together rediscover as a market and an industry our determination and belief that we can manage the current situation.

Whether we are manufacturer, distributor, retailer or fitter we need to realise together that the potential in the market for growth will return and by working together towards a common goal we can improve and develop the KBB market as a whole.

Amid all the uncertainty and even now with the arrival of possible signs of an emerging recovery the core question is simple: are we resilient and strong enough and do we have the long term strategies in place to weather these uncertain times and stay the course?

We have witnessed the demise of many in our market in the last twelve months, from small one man band fitting operations to some of the giants in our industry like MFI and Bernstein.

In order to not only survive but to continue growth and development in the current climate our strategic approach whatever the size and scope of our business must include some essential elements:

Investment; we need to invest in the future by continuing to develop our brands, our products and our people to better cope with the present and be prepared to capitalise on the expansion that will invariably follow the recession. The need to publicise our offering to the market by advertising, PR and good marketing is imperative. A well planned and effective advertising campaign in difficult times can position our businesses for growth and expansion. If the target audience are unaware of the service we offer the likelihood is they’ll never avail of it. Advertising strategically can be an extremely good method of lead generation however large or small our business, and can be bought in a cost effective manner if purchased wisely.

Establish and agree an advertising and promotional budget that is manageable and comfortable within your current business planning and whatever the circumstances stay within it. Always choose the media to suit your brand, your target market and more importantly the budget you have set. Try to spread the cost and effect of what you are doing over as long a period as possible, as it takes time and repetition to establish your branding and message in your target customer’s consciousness, but stick with it as the results will be rewarding for your business.

Good marketing and PR with effective and well positioned displays, POS and brochures will give your customers clear reference points, particularly if linked visually and in content with your current advertising activity, to make sensible and intelligent buying decisions and the more buying decisions made in your favour the better the outcome.

Efficiency; The careful and thoughtful implementation of a plan to credibly and comprehensively address any inefficient spending or material waste in our business procedures and practices is essential in times of financial extremes and needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency. Establishing a service/cost structure and fiscal framework suitable for our businesses and the current marketplace and climate while at times painful and stressful is still essential to long term survival and growth. There is no place in a depressed market for waste and inefficiency.

Competitiveness; It is critical to maintain competitiveness while facing increased competition not only from within our own market but from many others all competing for our customers spend. Offering choice and quality to allow consumers to customize the look that fits within the needs of both family and budget is the key to long term success and we need to supply solutions and tools to provide this.

With the current parlous state of the property market fewer people are buying or selling property and moving home, but there is a real opportunity for those who want to improve their current kitchens, bedrooms or bathrooms. Ensure you are best placed to offer a service suited to this with replacement doors, worktops, accessories and allied products.

While reducing marketing and advertising spend in a downturn defends profit in the short term, sustainable marketing and advertising investment now will realise a growth of market share and later result in an improvement in profitability to outweigh any short term reduction.

The time is right to offer hard pressed consumers the benefit of innovative design, products and marketing strategies to realise their dreams and to publicise and grow our brands. The market is still out there, it is up to us all to go out and find it.

N.I. Minister for Enterprise Arlene Foster congratulates Cookstown Company on multi-million pound contracts

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has congratulated Cookstown Company BA Components Ltd on securing contracts worth £7.5 million.

BA Components manufactures high quality MDF-wrapped doors and accessories for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom sectors. The contracts will see the company supply a range of products to these trade only suppliers over the next three years.

The deal will create 15 new jobs and help ensure that BA Components continues to generate over 95 per cent of its turnover from outside Northern Ireland.

The success comes after investments totalling over £3 million in marketing, staff development and other capability building by the company since 2007. The expansion program and investment has been backed by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund,

Congratulating BA Components during a visit to the company, the Minister said: “BA Components operates in a highly challenging and competitive sector and, despite the overall economic downturn, has consistently grown its turnover in recent years. This latest growth will help continue this trend and is testament to the company’s ethos of efficiency and innovation in both product development and processes.

“The company also maintains a focus on marketing and customer care which has helped it secure this significant business ahead of a number of major international suppliers. I wish BA Components every success as it fulfils the orders from this contract, and hope that the deal helps attract further business from external markets in future.”

Brian McCracken, Managing Director of BA Components, said: “The recession has impacted severely on some retail markets, including the home improvement sector that we target. However, we have remained adaptable and are now beginning to see signs of consumer confidence returning. This is being reflected in the orders we are receiving from retailers.

“Our success in securing this important contract is thanks in large part to the range of improvements we have implemented in recent years with the financial and advisory support of Invest NI. We hope to continue this useful relationship going forward as we work to build on the success of this deal.”

Coloured Doors are Here to Stay

No matter what industry you are in, today image is everything.

Designers rely on colour to add life and personality to a room, and to set the mood for the spaces we’re working in. There are the basic principals of colour and design – for instance, horizontal lines to widen a space or bring the ceiling down, or a dark or intense wall of colour at one end to make a long narrow space less so.

Colour trends are almost always related to current lifestyle perceptions and general concerns and values. Amid the gloom and despondency that has surrounded us recently the trends for the rest of 2009 and into 2010 is to look for brightness and light to help us accentuate the positive.

Bright coloured high gloss doors used as accent colours with traditional whites and creams will lead the trends going forward, and whatever the colour, we will also be using lots of texture, creating a sort of less processed look that once again takes us back to nature and comfort.

Certainly the trend toward a new contemporary is an opportunity for these colour schemes and finish materials to gain ground.

We seem to wish for a simplification of life in general, and that will probably translate to colour choices. With the backdrop of the new neutrals, vivid and pure colours are showing up as accents throughout our homes in lighting, paint finishes, soft furnishings and wall papers and I can’t see taste being any different when it comes to our kitchen and bedroom doors.

Thankfully with the many great offers out there at the moment we are all spoiled for choice.

Move or Improve? – Replacement Kitchen Doors

In the current economic climate many people are deciding to improve their current property as opposed to actually moving to a new home.

One of the best ways of increasing both the value and comfort of your home is the use of replacement kitchen doors.

Replacement kitchen doors are now a widely accepted method of improving your kitchen and offers a way to refresh your kitchen at a lower cost. There are many companies now offering replacement doors and Bellabyba currently supply doors to many of these replacement kitchen door companies.

The process to get replacement doors is relatively simple, either contact Bellabyba for a list of replacement kitchen door companies in your area (we supply companies nationwide, so we are very likely to be supplying replacement kitchen doors to an expert close to you) or contact one of the many replacement kitchen door companies advertising in your local press, but ensure you insist on having bellabyba doors for your kitchen.

The agent or representative will arrange a visit and survey where they will show you the range of replacement kitchen doors they carry, and if they are supplying you Bella doors they will be able to offer you a choice of colour and design of over 700 replacement kitchen door options.

Using your current carcases and worktops they can make your kitchen look brand new again. Bella replacement kitchen doors are regularly used and featured on ITV’s 60 minute makeover, and the difference replacement kitchen doors make has to be seen to be believed.

Replacement kitchen doors really are the cost effective way to improve your kitchen today.

Hot colour & textures from Bella by BA

Vinyl KBB Door and Components Manufacturers BA Components have a truly cutting edge product offering in their Bella Range with a stunning choice of over 700 colour and design combinations from traditional and contemporary through to Avant Garde.

High gloss kitchens are shining brighter than ever with white, black and cream leading the trend. Add to that the ‘hot’ colours this summer of zingy and zesty oranges, reds and limes and the picture is almost complete.

High gloss white gives a clean crisp feel to any kitchen, but when mixed with some of today’s latest High Gloss colours the finish can be quite breathtaking, as can be seen in this picture by mixing a warm but really modern look such as the Plum Prunus with High Gloss white Venice doors from the Bella range.

Another means of providing variation from solid colour is by including subtle detailing on doors and wall units, such as the random ripple effect of the new Sahara doors and panels or the use of textured ‘Riven’ finishes in the Bella range.

The cutting edge design and advanced manufacturing processes now current in vinyl wrapped products has allowed the design and marketing teams at BA Components to target a whole new audience with their products, and truly add that Avant Garde look to excite and enthuse.

Current Market trends and developments in a credit pressed economy

David Caulfield, BA Components Sales & Marketing Manager, looks at current Market trends and developments in a credit pressed economy.

We are living in extraordinary times and the meltdown of the global economy has had an impact however large or small on us all. It is important not to passively succumb to doubt but to rediscover as a market our determination and belief that we can manage the current situation.

Amid all the uncertainty the core question is simple: are we resilient and strong enough and do we have the long term strategies in place to weather these uncertain times and stay the course?  In the current climate our strategic approach must include some essential elements:

Investment; we need to invest in the future by continuing to develop our brands, our products and our people to better cope with the present and be prepared to capitalise on the expansion that will invariably follow the recession.

Efficiency; implementation of a plan to credibly and comprehensively address any inefficient spending or material waste, establishing a service/cost structure and fiscal framework suitable for our businesses and the marketplace.

Competitiveness; It is critical to maintain competitiveness while facing increased competition not only from within our own UK market but from many sides of the globe. Offering choice and quality to allow consumers to customize the look that fits within the needs of both family and budget is the key to long term success and we need to supply our trade partners with the tools to provide this.

While reducing marketing spend in a downturn defends profit in the short term, sustainable marketing investment now will realise a growth of market share and later result in an improvement in profitability to outweigh any short term reduction.

The time is right to offer hard pressed dealers our support with innovative design, products and marketing strategies to grow both their business and our brands.

More Bella Curves

Bella by BA have extended the possibilities for kitchen and bedroom designers allowing them more freedom to innovate with their Vinyl door ranges.

The introduction of four new sizes in curved doors is further evidence of the company’s continuing strategy of providing retailers with greater choice and enabling flexibility in design.

The addition of 650mm, 895mm, 1245mm and 2155mm doors to the already popular 715mm curved door opens up a much wider window of design possibilities not only in the kitchen but in the living room, study and bedroom as well.

To compliment the doors, Bella are also offering colour matched corner carcasses designed to perfectly fit all five available sizes.

Bella continue to develop Sahara Doors

Flow Line now available. BA Components have continued to develop the exciting collection of Sahara Feature doors and drawers in the Bella range

Since Sahara’s original launch last summer demand has continued to grow with doors and drawer fronts regularly being added as kitchen features to add interest and contrast.

Now available as full bedroom doors the Sahara feature looks absolutely stunning in any setting.

The latest development in the Sahara story has been the recent launch of Flow Line Doors. This allows designers to arrange doors in pairs with a continuous pattern running from door to door and not only adds interest to the bedroom but raises the value perceptions around the design.

Flow Line Doors are available in both left & right hand doors and are available from 1400mm up to 2400mm high. The doors are available from a minimum width of 296mm up to a maximum of 650mm wide.

The stunning bedroom collections include something for all tastes and preferences with many new products to compliment the existing range.

Beautifully crafted, superior quality materials, precision and attention to detail – A bedroom from Bella – seduce yourself first.

Following many requests from customers to produce a ‘Shaker Style’ door in High Gloss colours BA Components are pleased to announce the availability of their WARWICK style door in all High Gloss colours with the exception of High Gloss Ebony.

With the increase in demand for High Gloss finishes and the continued popularity of Shaker styles this new combination will further increase the available options within the Bella range by 10 from 706 to 716.

The new Warwick High Gloss door will be featured in the eagerly awaited new Bedroom Collection Brochure launched next month.

Bella by BA continue to listen and respond to customer’s feedback and endeavour to offer the largest possible range of colours and styles in true made to measure ‘bespoke’ vinyl wrapped doors and drawers.

BA practice what they preach; “Pick a colour any colour, Choose a style any style.”

Bella ‘Push & Pull’ strategy

To develop our brand and continue to offer the best possible service to our dealers we at BA Components have embarked on a program of consumer advertising aimed at the man and woman in the street but designed to ‘pull’ Bella product through you our dealers and into bedrooms and kitchens all over the country.

Traditionally manufacturers used ‘push’ strategies when advertising, concentrating on trade journals and industry publications to have dealers purchase product for future sale. This method left the second phase of the sale, that is the advertising of the end product to the consumer up to the retailer themselves.

This results in added advertising and marketing costs to the retailer, and in difficult trading times such as exist today this can be difficult and prohibitive. In a bid to further help our dealer network we at BA have taken responsibility for this enterprise and this expense and hope to increase the footfall through all your shops and showrooms as a result.

Currently all Virgin Train commuters and Easy Jet passengers will be able to see the Bellabyba advertising in their in-train and in-flight magazines, get a referral to the website and from there find the dealer closest to their postcode where they can buy the Bella product range. This in conjunction with on-going TV advertising will we hope have the desired effect and more consumers will enter your premises without cost to yourselves.

Another innovation from BA Components to make conducting business with us both enjoyable and hassle free, we believe totally in adding value to our dealers.

BA Goes Greener

BA Components already recognised for their green policy of using only wood based materials sourced from independently certified and well managed forests in line with both FSC & PEFC directives and the recycling of all waste materials to heat their factory have taken a further ‘green’ step.

The company have just reached an agreement with Airtricity a world leading renewable energy company operating and developing wind farms across Europe for the supply of electricity to their Cookstown factory and offices.

Airtricity who have 14 wind farms in operation throughout Ireland and Scotland producing 400MW will supply all BA’s electricity needs going forward.

BA’s managing director Brian McCracken said “here at BA Components we’ve always been committed to help build a cleaner energy future and reduce our carbon footprint, this latest energy strategy agreed by senior management proves our commitment to these ideals.”

Bella’s new ‘Curvy’ look

BA Components recently launched Kitchen Collection features the latest trend for the ‘curvy’ look across the range.

One of the first Manufacturers to produce a full vinyl wrapped curved door and plinth the doors are available in all 34 colours of the range and the demand for the doors since they were launched in July has been phenomenal.

The doors can be fitted on either high level or low level units, looking particularly stylish on island units and at the end of a cupboard run. Fitting the doors is as easy as a normal flat finish door and BA will supply a template on request to aid fitters when installing the doors.

To compliment the doors the Bella range also features a new Radius Rail feature to further promote the ‘curvy’ look and like the doors, this unique styling feature is currently flying of the shelves.

Bella TV Debut

BA Components has always been committed to investing in marketing to support its dealers and promote the Bella brand. At a time when many are cutting back on marketing BA Components is investing in a major promotional campaign, which will not only continue to build the Bella Brand but will also build business for its trade dealers.

During October and November BA Components will be launching a television advertising campaign on the UKTV Style channel which is watched by 6 million viewers each month. The advert will be featured 148 times during a 4 week period at prime viewing times.  Viewers will be encouraged to visit the new company website which will give them options to request promotional material and product sample, and will direct them to their nearest Bella stockist. As an alternative to visiting the website, the TV advert will be supported with a freephone number for requesting further information.

The television adverts are only one aspect of a wide reaching promotional programme, which has included the development of high quality product catalogues and brochures, a new website, consumer and trade press advertising and a customer care programme.

This is an extremely exciting campaign for Bella, BA and more importantly its dealers, which will result in a real buzz in the marketplace. David Caulfield, BA Components Sales & Marketing Manager commented, ‘We are looking forward to seeing the rewards, not only to BA Components but also throughout our dealer network’.

BA Components revamp their Bella Range

Vinyl KBB Door and Components Manufacturers BA Components have recently revamped their Bella Range and David Caulfield who heads up the BA Sales & Marketing Team shared some of his ideas and thinking with Kitchen Journal.

High gloss kitchens are shining brighter than ever with white, black and cream leading the trend. Add to that the ‘hot’ colours this summer of zingy and zesty oranges, reds and limes and the picture is almost complete.

While something as expensive as a kitchen shouldn’t just be bought just on the basis of current trends there is a lot to be gained from taking some of today’s cutting edge trends and mixing them with a good solid neutral base colour of white or cream.

Design trends at the moment are very much focussed around the application of ‘mix and match’ and the use of vibrant oranges & limes as accent colours.

The emphasis today is firmly on variety, crispness and smooth sleek lines, and when we combine all of these elements with the use of High Gloss Cream, Zingy Paprika Orange and handle-less rail, you can really spice up the kitchen with colour, excitement and taste.

Another means of providing variation from solid colour is by including subtle detailing on doors and wall units, such as the random ripple effect of the new Sahara doors and panels or the use of textured ‘Riven’ finishes in the Bella range.

The cutting edge design and advanced manufacturing processes now current in vinyl wrapped products has allowed designers and marketers to target a whole new audience with their products, and truly add that Avant Garde look to excite and enthuse.

Helped by new exposure on TV and in consumer magazines some of the major names in product design are now happy to be associated with our industry, and it’s important that with them we continue to play a real part in expanding our industry’s profile.”

KBB Review Aug 2008.

Kitchen design – Colour, Style & Composition with BA Components.

As floor plans are becoming more open and the kitchen is more integrated into the main living areas of the home, it becomes increasingly important to carry good design practises into the kitchen. This includes decisions on appliances, doors, drawers, accessories and splash back colours among other things.

It’s important to consider certain elements when determining design direction – they are: colour, materials and the function the space will serve the family.

Previously when people thought about introducing colour into kitchen design they generally went directly to the wall colour or splash back pattern or flooring. Today while this is still important more and more choice and variety allows colour introductions through dishes, glassware, appliances and now more than ever cabinetry, counter-tops and furniture.

Yesterday’s neutral door colours have given way to an intense colour palette.

While traditional and timeless designs still remain popular, new ‘Avant-garde’ colours like those offered by Bella from BA Components add vibrancy and life to any kitchen space. Now the trend to ‘mix and match’ can be followed simply by choosing complimentary colours from the same range.

Essential to any kitchen design is the work and traffic flow. A traditional theory on kitchen layout is the triangle relationship among the fridge, oven and sink. That shape has now evolved into circles, squares and many other configurations as unique as the individuals who use them.

Despite this evolution, the emphasis on function remains essential.

Many homeowners now install two of everything, from dishwashers to ovens to sinks. The added functionality of having pairs of appliances allows for more family members to be involved with cooking, provides more space to store food and makes entertaining more of a breeze as food preparation and clean up are twice as fast.

As BA Components believe, whatever the colour, style and composition of the kitchen, consideration needs to be given to how it will be used every day. It is important to consider your lifestyle and that of your family in order to choose the kitchen that will best accent and update your home.
